Voice and Screen Evidence Policy
Scope
Applies to voice observation, voice recording and player screen share. They are available only on the Operations and Network plans, and only to staff whose role grants them.
Network owner obligations
- Inform your players clearly and before they play (server rules and on connect) that voice may be observed or recorded and that staff may ask to see their screen.
- Have a legal basis, and comply with the law that applies to your players, including rules on minors.
- Limit these permissions to the staff who need them.
How evidence is protected
- Recordings are encrypted with keys unique to your network before storage. Deleting the network destroys the keys (cryptographic erasure).
- Every observation, recording, playback, download and screen share is written to the network's audit log.
- Screen share is shown live to the requesting staff member. We keep a record of each session (who asked, when and why) in the audit log, not the video.
Retention
- Operations: 30 days. Network: 90 days. Recordings are deleted automatically when that period ends.
- Lowering your plan shortens existing recordings to the new period. A lapsed plan does not shorten it.
- Recordings are not included in the network export archive; owners can download them individually until the network is deleted.
- Recordings are not part of our database backups, so a recording that has expired or been deleted does not remain in them.
Use of evidence
Use it only to moderate and resolve incidents in your network. Do not publish it or share it beyond that purpose. Questions: (not specified).
